EPISODE 44: SO WHY NOT… MAKE A GAME PLAN?

Update for what I have planned for the podcast

Season 2:  10 episodes total

2022:  lots of traveling and time away from home

Constantly feeling like I’m drowning in ideas but can’t ever get ahead enough

Want to continue with the podcast

Want to show up consistently (word of the year for 2023:  Consistency)

Make a game plan:

Gearing up for the Super Bowl

Not sports-ed at all

But I do love a good theme and I will run with it

Common components for success in sports:

Having a knowledgable, experienced coach

-I started a creative mentorship with Miranda Anderson (@livefreemiranda)

-Got some really good ideas to plan out future episodes

-Google sheets

Having a playbook, implementing it

-Get it out of your head (paper, spreadsheet, notes app)

-Made my own Google sheets

-Planning ahead

-specific topics

-scheduling guests

Relying on people on your team

-Creativity club

Ready to take on the defense

-not necessarily competition (could be)

-opposing forces:  time management, distraction, self-doubt, fear

Review the play

-Reviewing what worked well or fell flat in the past

-What can be improved in a process so that you don’t run into the same problems

Take a timeout when you need to regroup

-It’s ok to take a break from what you’re working on

-don’t get burned out

-Taking a break for the next month to really work on planning, writing, recording more podcasts with guests

I recently listened to the audiobook: Creativity, Inc. (by Ed Catmull)

The future is not a destination, it is a direction.

Make a game plan:
-get a coach
-implement your playbook
-rely on your teammates
-be ready to take on the defense
-review the play
-take a timeout when you need it
